Why must there be a raise??

My writing will be short. My question is simple :

Mudik is a tradition and a need for most of us, especially for those who are far away from hometown. To travel, we have 2 choices, get on public transportation such as bus, train, ship, airplane – or by private vehicles.

When we choose to use a public transportation. We will experience the same hard thing every year, which is tusla. Why must there be a tusla (transport fee on iedul fitri)?? It can empty our pockets!

I understand that governments need more efforts to provide the services; the maintenance things, the fuel prices things, etc. But I think it’s way too expensive. No wonder that people choose to go with their own vehicles, whether it’s car or even motorcycles. No wonder that people are willing to jostle and thrust through the crowd to get seats in economic trains. They’ll do anything to have the less expensive way to travel. Anything to gather with their family in town and anything to be back to metropolitan city to work.

Well, others say that because people get an extra salary while iedul fitri. (I know, perhaps their answers are only teasing me)
But..but..but, we, students, don’t get any!

I’ll take an example of train ticket’s price :

Mutiara Selatan : 130.000 –> 150.000 – 225.000

Argo Wilis : 210.000 –>250.000 – 400.000

Turangga :  230.000 –> 250.000 – 400.000

See, the tickets are getting higher but our pocket money is just so so. I can conclude, students are the ones who suffer the most when tusla is being applied.. -__-

Don’t Plan!

“I have a tendency to surprise myself”

John Grogan.Marley & Me.

That words stung me. It’s amazing to have yourself surprising you. It means you improve! You innovate. You don’t hold back in doing your things. You use all your potential and keep improving. Isn’t that great?

running in the baseball field

That’s how the movie got my attention. I watched Marley and Me while I was having my dinner. It is a story – well, I can say – about an ordinary life yet meaningful. The man is a reporter – and then turn to be – columnist, and his wife is also a feature reporter. It’s a story about their life, their family, and their hyperactive dog – Marley.

Jen, the wife, loves to plan everything whether John, prefers to let things happen then be surprise. But they get along well. They live their life smoothly, well a bit fight can’t be avoided. In the earlier stage of life, they live in a middle-class neighborhood, both of them work in different newspaper. Every morning they read each other’s articles and give comments.

Then after having a baby, they move to a better and safer neighborhood which also costs more -but it’s fine, they can afford it. Every week, John writes 2 – 3 columns, one of them talks about his life and Marley. But in his forty, after having 3 children and live happily, he starts to lose challenges and passions for his work. Jen realizes it and encourages him to move to Philadelpia, where John gets an offer of a position for reporter.

In Philadelphia, when they already have a better living standard, they choose to settle in suburb, give some more space for the kids. Hahahahaaa, I was laughing when I saw that. What an american lifestyle! Many times in the class, the lecturers said that high-class people tend to buy a house in suburb to have a peaceful and space to relax. Ah! Sou da ne. Now I really got what my lecturers mean. (Well, people in Indonesia usually don’t do that kind of thing, they tend to get close to the CBD).

Well, yep, but the most important thing is now I learn that having a plan for your life is good, but prepare to be surprised of what life might bring is better. And I wanna surprise myself! for good things of course.

Plan plan plan

For all this time, I’m a planner type of person. Well, I planned since I was child. I had my first life-map when I was 9 years old. I planned myself to be the best in my elementary, to attend SMP 1, SMA 5, IPB to have my agronomy degree, and go abroad to pursue MSc & PhD majoring agronomy, and also to go Haji. Ah, but at that time I forgot to mention ‘getting married‘. Hehee. (Well, most of them became reality, except the majoring, I took urban & regional planning  instead. And the higher degree things, I hope I can also make it come true in the future). Yup, I plan everything and when things don’t go my way, I got frustrated and then giving up on my plans. Ugh, bad habit.

My friends once said, Life is unpredictable and full of surprise. Yeah, it’s more important to prepare yourself to be surprised than stick to your plan and get frustrated. We, human, can only do our best in the present and Allah will decide the best destiny for us. And most of the time, the best destiny doesn’t match our earlier plan. But I’m sure Allah knows the best. As long as we keep improving, I think it’s fine.

So, it’s free for us to have dreams. It’s important for us to have a plan, but just don’t forget that life will always surprise us in every way. So be prepared. Anyway, that’s what makes life fun-dynamic-challenging-and not boring, isn’t it? 😀

Andai Aku Mahasiswi Psikologi..

1) Mengapa sopir angkot caheum-ledeng (pp) brani mengemudi begitu kencang & ugal-ugalan??

Serius deh.

Wuuih, kek racing! Klo nyalip, manteb betul.  Setiap hal kek gini terjadi, aku memperhatikan wajah-wajah penumpang di sekitarku yang seketika menegang & mencari-cari pegangan. Ha3.

Everyone’s Life, Everyone’s Story

Uhuuy, I’m excited to write. Hahahaa. I got inspiration from my yesterday’s experience. Well, it’s just a small piece of my life but -I don’t know- it means so much. The thought strucked me when we had dinner (fasting break) in KFC. Ow, there is something else inspires me; Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Wuuiih, it’s a great story! Really a refreshment among the stream of pop literatures in Indonesia. Ok, one by one, please..

KFC thing.
Yesterday there was someone (a big boy) celebrated his birthday in KFC, with Chaki Package + Batman. Actually his friends (and big help of his girlfriend) arranged that. Believe it or not, he is 23! Just one year older than me! Everyone there looked happy. Ahahahaaa, it was sweet and funny. Then I swapped my sight to his friends.. Looked to everyone else in KFC, the employers, then I suddenly thought,

“Yes, everyone has his/her own strory of life.. joy, sadness, pain, happiness. Aah, what a sweet. Allah Almight.”

When I put that in my mind, I do cherish people around me. I don’t judge them, I just appreciate each of them as someone who has her/his own story of life, who try to find out & pursue his/her fate. Hhm.. I love that feeling. Somehow it makes me feel confident. Hehee *does those things relate to each other??*

Bumi Manusia.
I haven’t finished reading it, but I can feel the greatness of its story. I love it. This book is written through the eyes of main character. The setting is the era when Netherland ruled Indonesia. The main character named Minke, inlander, an HBS student in Surabaya *ah, my hometown!*, royal blood is inside him but he refuse wealth. He is kinda a journalist and a writer. He studies and he also writes about people and his thought. He publishes his writings in newspaper. A writer with modern thoughts in mind! His life is dramatic, but his ability and his brain is pretty flawless. This story really inspires me to become a journalist and a writer like minke.

Hahahaa, after those experiences, I think back my dreams. Well few days ago I took a personality quiz suggested by agunk (mypersonality.info), and my result is The Confidant, Counselor, or Empath ~rare personality. Few of its career matches are Doctor, Human Resources, Social worker, Teacher/Professor, and Writer. Weheee.. Good careers. I like to listen to other people’s stories, feelings, and thoughts. I love to write those down, draw conclusions, and take wisdoms from those.

*Hhm, I hope I’m not overestimate myself..*

Friendship Quotes

Huuff, glad to see the light. Few minutes ago, when I wrote this note suddenly the light went out. My writing couldn’t be saved and restore. Now I need to write it over again. But it’s fine. I wrote only a paragraph before.

Ok, here is the story. Early this morning, I searched for friendship quotes. Heheheeee, I love to quote :p. Then I found few quotes that suit me. Weheee, nah, now, I’d like to share those here.

Love is missing someone whenever you’re apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you’re close in heart.
~Kay Knudsen

it reminds me to my friends whom I don’t run to for so long.  It’s just that I feel like that way when I miss them 😀

Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it’s one day further from the last time you saw each other, it’s one day closer to the next time you will.
~Author Unknown

Ahahahahaaa, this one is for my CS & trinity 😀

The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.
~Elizabeth Foley

This one is also for them. hiks… what a sweet!

You are you and I am I,
You do your thing and I’ll do mine,
and if in the end we meet up together,
it is beautiful.

~Boy Meets World

This is the best quote for CS (^o^)

The friend within the man is that part of him which belongs to you and opens to you a door which never, perhaps, is opened to another.  Such a friend is true, and all he says is true; and he loves you even if he hates you in other mansions of his heart.
~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Wisdom of the Sands

Hehee. nice one!

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one’s deepest as well as one’s most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort – the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person – having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.
~Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859

It is soooo nice to have someone whom u can talk anything to.. Whom u can call & holler anytime you want.. hehehee

There is magic in long-distance friendships.  They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound.
~Diana Cortes

Maybe this is what ukhuwah means 😀 Hwaaaaa,,, I miss my long-distance friends!

Many a person has held close, throughout their entire lives, two friends that always remained strange to one another, because one of them attracted by virtue of similarity, the other by difference.
~Emil Ludwig

Weeww,, *dualem!* when I read this, the first thing came on my mind was my friendship with hhhmm.. Ah, damned. But I guess it’s true..

She is a friend of mind.  She gather me, man.  The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order.  It’s good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your mind.
~Toni Morrison, Beloved

Hehehee, this one doesn’t really mean something to me. I just wonder & pray that someone someday will give me that words sincerely..

there’s other one…
I got this from kooom, well, it’s not really about friendship but it’s just, ugh, deep.

TEMAN SEJATI Mengerti ketika kamu berkata ‘Aku lupa …’
Menunggu selamanya ketika kamu berkata ‘Tunggu sebentar …’
Tetap tinggal ketika kamu berkata ‘Tinggalkan aku sendiri…’
Membuka pintu, meski kamu BELUM mengetuk dan berkata
‘Bolehkah saya masuk?’

Weew!!
once again, this poet brings my memory.
Uugghhh… Ittai ne.
Yeah, truth sometimes painful.. not for him, but for me..

Whatever..

Lentera Jiwa = Passion

lama sudah kumencari apa yang hendak kulakukan
sgala titik kujelajahi tiada satupun kumengerti
tersesatkah aku di samudra hidupku

kata-kata yang kubaca terkadang tak mudah kucerna
bunga-bunga dan rerumputan bilakah kau tahu jawabnya
inikah jalanku inikah takdirku

kubiarkan kumengikuti suara dalam hati
yang slalu membunyikan cinta
kupercaya dan kuyakini murninya nurani menjadi penunjuk jalanku
lentera jiwaku

(Lentera Jiwa by Nugie)

Weew!! Mengingatkanku kepada kata-kataku di kelas writing seminggu yang lalu, “Journalism is my passion!”. Without even knowing what ‘passion‘ truly means. Ahahahahahahahaaa.

Let’s follow our passions, in the right way! p(^^)q
Have faith in our God and ourselves 😀

Gaya Tulisan Anak Jaman Sekarang

—- killing the time while waiting for inspiration to come to continue my paper

1).  TuLisaN geDe keCiL gA jLas & gA PaDa tEmPatnYa kEk Gni.

astagfirullah deh.. aQ ga kebayang tuh orang yang ngetik nahan ‘shift’ melulu. Ga kebayang lagi klo tuh orang ngetiknya pake hape, ribet banget milih hurufnya. Kagak capek yak. Lagipula, bikin puyeng yang ngebaca juga.

2). J = Z, mis. aja = aza

bo elah, genit amat bahasanya! entah kenapa sebenarnya Q malah sering menemukan gaya penulisan ini dipake ma cow. Wew, makin geli lah awa.

3) TulisanTanpaSpasiKekGini

udah ah, pokoknya, no offense for those who do those things. It’s my opinion and I wanna share it.

—- Now, let’s continue paper-ing T.T

Ukhti-ukhti Berhati Lembut

—— barusan blog walking ke beberapa blog ukhti-ukhti.

Wuuuiiihhh!! Subhanallah.

Facebook Meraja!

(wikipedia.org)

Yah, mirip-mirip friendster gitu. Mengapa?
